Use Plot in ChatGPT

Connect Plot to ChatGPT to review your tasks, capture follow-ups, and update projects without leaving the conversation.

Connect Plot to ChatGPT and update your work mid-conversation. ChatGPT can find your tasks, add new ones from notes, change status and due dates, and write documents in your Plot workspace.

For connection details and fixes that apply to every assistant, see Connect Plot to an AI assistant.

Before you start

You need:

  • A ChatGPT account on a plan and workspace that allow custom MCP servers.
  • A Plot account with access to the workspace you want to connect.

Connect Plot to ChatGPT

  1. Go to ChatGPT Plugins.
  2. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter Plot as the name and https://mcp.plot.app/mcp as the server URL. Plot uses OAuth, so you don't need an API key.
  4. Review the warning and select I understand and want to continue.
  5. In the Plot window, sign in, choose your workspace, and select Authorize.

Once Plot connects, it's also available in Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app.

What ChatGPT can do in Plot

Once connected, ChatGPT can:

  • Find tasks, projects, documents, and comments.
  • Create tasks, subtasks, and dependencies.
  • Update task status, assignees, priority, and due dates.
  • Write and edit documents.
  • Add comments and read your inbox.

ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Plot tools make changes.
