Use Plot in Claude

Connect Plot to Claude on the web, desktop, and mobile to plan work, create tasks, and update projects from a conversation.

Connect Plot to Claude and turn conversations into tracked work. Claude can find your tasks, create new ones from notes or plans, update projects and documents, and leave comments in your Plot workspace.

For connection details and fixes that apply to every assistant, see Connect Plot to an AI assistant.

Before you start

You need:

  • A Claude account. Free plans can add one custom connector.
  • A Plot account with access to the workspace you want to connect.

Connect Plot to Claude

  1. Open Customize > Connectors in Claude.
  2. Select Add, hover over Custom, then select Web.
  3. Enter Plot as the name.
  4. Enter https://mcp.plot.app/mcp as the server URL, then select Continue.
  5. Keep the authentication settings Claude detects, then select Continue.
  6. Choose Sign in now.
  7. In the Plot window, sign in, choose your workspace, and select Authorize.

The connector works in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile, and Cowork.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector for the organization first. Each member then connects with their own Plot account.

Install the Plot plugin

The plugin adds the Plot connector and a skill that teaches Claude how to work in Plot. To install it from a file:

  1. Download the plugin as a ZIP file from github.com/plot-hq/agent-plugins.
  2. In Claude, go to Customize > Plugins > Add > Upload plugin and select the ZIP file.
  3. Open the plugin's Connectors tab and connect Plot.

What Claude can do in Plot

Once connected, Claude can:

  • Find tasks, projects, documents, and comments.
  • Create tasks, subtasks, and dependencies.
  • Update task status, assignees, priority, and due dates.
  • Write and edit documents.

Claude asks for your approval before it uses a tool, unless you allow that tool to run without asking.

Troubleshoot

Plot tools don't appear in a chat

Start a new chat after you connect. Then check that the Plot connector is turned on in the chat's tools menu.

Claude can't reach the server

Claude connects from Anthropic's servers, so the Plot server must be reachable from the internet. https://mcp.plot.app/mcp is public, so check the URL for typing mistakes.
